Chesterton 412-W packing gland was created as a sealing device, but because it must drip, it is more appropriately referred to as a restrictional device.
Chesterton 412-W combines new synthetic composite threads developed with special specially formulated lubricants. The continuous filament center provides 10 times the tensile strength of typical packing fibers. The fibrous cover allows 412-W to absorb twice the PTFE blocking agent from conventional packaging.
