Specification of Non Asbestos Gland Packing Garlock Style 5889
Gland packing is often found in sump pumps, chlorinators, alkaline softeners, slip-type expansion joints, strong acidic situations, hot oil charcoal pump factories, reciprocating rods, rams and plungers. Chemical resistant to pumps and preshrunk rotary equipment to avoid packaging wear and shaft printing for soft, flexible but very non-porous excellent choices for rotary shaft services.
Gland packing is a continuous PTFE style 5889 filament fiber pump packing which is dimensionally stable packaging but relatively soft and flexible. Treated with PTFE dispersions and inert materials, it is an excellent choice for high speed shaft spinning services at sea, sewage / water treatment, and the most volatile applications. Pre-shrinking to avoid packaging wear and scoring shafts, Style 5889 is also very non-porous.
