This SWG is a kind of gasket consisting of metal / steel strips and soft coated non-metallic fillers. SWG functions as a spring between flanges which is suitable for sealing changes in temperature and pressure often occur, such as pipes, pumps, valves, etc. SWG is available in all standard flange sizes such as: ANSI, JIS, PN, etc.
This SWG also has an outer ring which consists of a metal guide ring and a sealing element that provides additional radial strength to prevent the explosion gasket and stop compression. Outering is made of carbon steel (in coated paint to prevent corrosion) but can be made from SS304, SS316, etc. for higher temperatures and more severe media applications.
SWG also has innering in the form of an inner ring. Innering functions as a compression stopper and fills between the bore flange and the inner diameter. Designed to prevent accumulation of solids and minimize erosion of flange faces.
