This SWG is a kind of gasket consisting of a metal/steel strip and soft coated non-metallic filler. The SWG acts as a spring between the flanges which is suitable for sealing places where temperature and pressure changes frequently occur, such as pipes, pumps, valves, etc. This SWG is available in all standard flange sizes such as: ANSI, JIS, PN, etc. The SWG also has an outer ring consisting of a metal guide ring and sealing element which provides additional radial strength to prevent the gasket from exploding and stopping compression. The outering is made of carbon steel (coated to prevent corrosion) but can be made of SS304, SS316, etc. for higher temperatures and more severe media applications. SWG also has innering in the form of an inner ring. Innering acts as a compression stopper and fills between the flange bore and the inside diameter.
